Hope you've learnt your lesson getting away so lightly this time. It probably won't ever happen again, you've had your get out of jail free card. I'm rather envious you managed to blag your way out of it but then I hope I don't ever end up doing 70 in a 30 anyway. I'd feel crap.

He probably couldn't understand you well enough to write the ticket.

Then again, if you did have your nose up his bottom, maybe he was hoping for your phone number instead?

The copper didn't have the necessary evidence. End of.

alot of it does depend on the evidence of speeding, but if your a complete tnuc in the car with the copper, im pretty sure they can do you for dangerous driving or something similar.

Time for a bit of Devil's advocate here.

There is a road near us that has a speed limit of twenty five on it. It starts as national speed limit through narrow winding lanes and turns into a thirty by the school before opening up and dropping to a measly 25MPH. The road is a set of twisties through some woods over the top of some big drops to a rocky beach. OK, so some folks have died crashing here due to the fun nature of the road.

My view is that 40 is safe, the wife says 25 is about right for new riders on small bikes. It used to be a faster road, but too many people fell off driving like loons. Sometimes perfectly good roads are ruined by idiots who cannot keep their car or van on a corner. Two weeks ago I passed two crashed vehicles on this stretch of road in one morning. So much for twenty five being safe.

It's ok JF, the number of vehicles which have managed to embed themselves in the central reservation of the m62 on a monday morning WITH NO OTHER VECHILES INVOLVED, just the usual solo vauxhall corsa or ford fiesta, on a stretch of tarmac 3 lanes wide and the usual 70 mph NSL, and I say again, with no other damaged vehicles in sight.... is absolutely amazing.
