I painted a blue bike yellow once, never regreted it for a moment.
If you fancy a white one then do it. IMHO would be classy on a VFR.

bike in red with two white lids looks good but a white bike would suit you Quiff, however, with your OCD won't it drive you bananas? Every little speck and squished fly that's been baked on, you'll go into overdrive

It might work though - people expect white to look grubby so it always looks cleaner than it actually is.

most painters will tell you that painting over red with a light colour is the hardest to do because red is the hardest/strongest colour to cover up,but apart from that go for it
