Would come as a big surprise to most on this thread that petrol stations ever have theft problems by the look of things!

Wonder what measures or restrictions most people on this thread would impose if they were the franchisee and those high value thefts were coming straight out of their pocket on weekly basis.

I know that garage on Croydon Road. Mate of mine uses that garage for quite a few years and now when he goes in on his bike they told him he needs to pay in advance.

Theres a garage at the Circus tavern in Purfleet that between 7pm and 6am you have to pay in advance. No matter what you drive or ride. I try to find a garage that allows to fill up without getting grief or one that I you pay for at the pump. Saves getting arsy staff.

That would be a point if pre-payment was applied across the board. When the sign in the petrol station's own windows, lists the reg. no., make & model of offending, thieving vehicles and they're all cars, it would suggest they're 'protecting' themselves and their wallets from the wrong motorists.

If it was a big deal it would be simple to solve. Use a single row of pumps with high kerbs between them and a hydraulic bollard front and back. The bollards automatically rise when the pump is activated and drop when payment is made.

(As a beneficial side effect it would also solve the slow moving caravan problem. )

The facepalm isn't there to make any point about biker discrimination at petrol stations, it's there to make the point that I'm fed up of the whole topic. Not interested in discussing it, sorry.
