An alternative that has a durable finish is the wrap it, black gloss vinyl is cheap enough, and no drying time.

Cheers Mark.

It was an ad on fleabay for a headstock bearing that said underneath
he was breaking his bike coz he needs money, and a telephone number so I rang him and said can I have your front mudguard, rear hugger, braided lines and callipers for £100, and he said yes.

So I think you may be right when you called him a pleb.

Definitely black for the front mudguard!
As for the rear hugger you could always get creative with a dremel and relieve it of some material from around the chain area. That should make it look a bit less bulky.

Was thinking if I could cut it in such a way as to refit my shiny ally chain guard?

Can't see a way round getting them both bolted in the same holes?

Unless I rivet the hugger to the top of the chain guard!

I have a lot of experience with lego. Bring it round if you want me to help. I also have glue.
