yeah, might well be. Just depends on the damage and the price, as ever. As I say, I'm just down the road so could arrange to have a look at it no bother.

don't be to hasty about the fairings as everything you have said it will need is cheep as chips apart from the fork stanchions which are £100 each new. the subframe can be straightened or a second hand one got.

depending on which yoke it is i have a bottom one kicking about you can have for free.

my off the top of my head estimate using second hand parts would be about £400 to get it back on the road which includes new stanchions. obviously there would be extra for someone doing the work.

Second that - my head said £500, but I was immediately thinking of a few minor mods. Told you winter does funny things to a biker's brain.

Anyway, if you don't want to, can't be bothered etc. then I might still buy it off ya.

That's interesting, I was prepared/hoping for ~800 for parts + workmanship (excluding fairing). But problem with doing it that way is I have no garage or owt to keep the bike while waiting for the right parts to come up on ebay etc.

Anyway I'll wait and see what Saltire say about getting it to an MOT pass, he assumed it was an insurance job so was probably quicker to write it off than he would of been for repairs.

Back on road estimate: 1500-2000... Hah (excluding fairings). But that was all new Suzuki parts including rear subframe (apparently 500£) and full exhaust system. I can see used subframes on ebay for 50-100£ and presumably I can get some non-Suzuki exhaust system that'll look nicer and maybe be cheaper.

I'm going down there in a bit, will get pics and see what they're saying.

Cheers for that link.

Here are the photos: http://imgur.com/a/cYa8o

Ok I've been to Saltire and got a todo list to get it roadworthy. The parts it'll need are:
  • exhaust system
  • rear subframe
  • top fairing
  • footrest, indicator, handlebar

Suzuki prices are mental... 1k +VAT for exhaust system, 440 for subframe but if I'm gonna get the parts they'll be secondhand. Not sure what I'm gonna do at the mo - either buy the parts and have them fit them or cut my losses and sell as-is, money is pretty tight.

that's not to bad m8. rear sub, top cowling (but if all bits are there it can be welded, dump the lowers or try and sores a new right hand one. cant see the forks properly so would need to have a look, footpeg you can live with or just another heal plate (which i have) rear foot peg (i have one of those as well) and the exhaust only needs mid pipes and a connection collar or a new end can.

so saltire are saying that the forks are ok?

Yeah, on the estimate they wrote new forks + top/bottom yokes at first but (probably after I said it's not an insurance job) it's been crossed out and they've written "kick straight".

About the exhaust, I did ask if I could just get a new end can + link but he says I need a new full system - the end can was out at a right angle after the crash so maybe there is more damage than there appears?

nope just need second hand mid section and connection collar or new end can (i may be able to help here as well)

kick straight means they are twisted.. yeeehawww...

i'll have a word with someone if you like that can give me space so i can do the work but i cant shift the bike unless i speak to someone very very nicely. only troubble is i can only do the work on sundays but will only take ma a day to do once you give me all the parts.
