Damage was already done on mine!

Mine was hammered when I got my bike, so I bought a yoke protector. It's fake carbon fibre and it looks OK, but it's better than staring at a load of scratches!

Ignition, disc lock, chain and topbox keys on my bunch, with a leather keyring. Not noticed much scratching at all but then I've a silver top yoke. More fussed about my black renthals getting scratched but they seem alright after 2 years.

I use something like this on my main keyring, and detach/reattach the ignition key as needed. I wouldn't pay what's being asked in that link, I'm sure you can get them far more cheaply.

This, although I just have ignition and disc lock but the tubing fits perfectly on the disc lock key and stops scratching brilliantly. But damn, I thought my 'key glove' concept was unique - there is obviously another freak out there!

I just have my ignition key in the ignition and just a house key in my pocket / under seat. I try to have as few pointy metal things as possible on me just in case they do me damage if I fall off.

Ooh la la. you fit me like a (key) glove. It is like we were made to be together. I am sorry i ever doubted your cheap plasticky ways. Never again will i sit alone scratching my yoke... Enough!

One key on a long Kawasaki lightweight webbing and rubber keyfob. I hate scratched top yokes with a passion and as this fob is so long it flaps over the speedo and keeps it clear to read as I ride in the rain.

House keys, luggage keys and any others live in the top compartment of my small tankbag, which goes everywhere with me when I'm on the bike.

To me nothing says "I couldn't give a rats ar5e about this bike" more than a top yoke that's got half the paint missing.
