30 years ago, a sandwich student was hauled into my then managers office for a rollicking.

It turned out he had been on a london-mancheser train on business slagging off his/my manager/company. Totally unaware there was someone from the same company across the aisle.

I think he learned that day to keep your thoughts to yourself or private to your friends. Broadcasting anything is asking for trouble.

+1 If you go shouting your mouth off (or the modern equivalent which is venting online) then expect someone to hear it and then it to bite you in the ass.

My sister is terrible for posting things on her facebook that really really paint her in a bad light. She's the one on my feed who posts "cant sleep, got work in 3hrs FML" etc etc... and she's a store manager!

If I were in a position of power I'd monitor my staff, easiest way to identify stupidity and resolve the problems before they cause too much unrest.

I know who deals with the summonses generated by the camera vans and the "iffy" cases. Most are time served cops with only a few years service left who generally have spent a lot of time in the traffic world. They wouldn't be out on the streets anyway due to age, injury or just winding down to retirement. But to find him in the vast, Earth encompassing mess that is the world wide web, seems almost too much of a coincidence to bear.

I suspect a tip was passed.

He hasn't been gaoled for the speeding, he has for the criminal offences of perverting the course of justice.

Pete
You're right re the tip-off Pete. According to the Mail, it was a company which provides road safety services to the force concerned -

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ng-points.html

Think the quote from peipoo is a bit rich though, considering the site's whole ethos is getting motorists off parking and speeding tickets.

Plus eight months?! I've seen plenty of scumbags avoid jail for unprovoked violence -one was a gang attack on a couple in their own home in the middle of the night and none of them got custodial.

But speed on a motorbike and try and get away with it...

A judge labelled his behaviour 'calculated, deliberate and thoroughly disturbing'.

What a neb-end.

And what a bunch of c***s road safety support must be. That's got to be even worse than working for a "safety partnership" or a defence lawyer in a noncing case. Talk about doing other people's dirty work...

Yup - and just because they're not-for-profit doesn't mean they've not got a financial interest in sucking up to the force they get work off.

You can set up as a not-for-profit but still give yourselves salaries/perks way above what you deserve and avoid the scruting of shareholders etc.

Hmmm. Wonder if they have to publish accounts. Might be a bit of a laugh to do some sort of personal exposé on the board of directors and stuff, what wages the "not for profit" sh*tehawks and stuff are drawing. I think it could make a nice article in MCN or something.

Tbh I think piepoo come out of this worse. From the sound of things, they've, willingly handed over his IP address then they've given that snivelling quote to the Mail. Wonder how many drivers they've helped to get off who were actually putting other people at risk over the years?

Talk about hypocracy - at least Road Safety Support's behaviour is as you'd expect of them.

Unfortunately I've been there and done that, and it wasn't as pretty as I'd hoped... Manager still has no idea though. Always makes me chuckle when he goes on about his daughter being all sweet and innocent and getting on with work at the weekends...
