My Hein Gericke textile stunt style jacket originally came with a pathetic foam insert in the back, got upgraded to the HIPROTEC® CE back protector for 40 quid and it is very robust, seems almost as thick as a separate back protector. When you warm up the material becomes flexible so its unnoticeable.

Thanks Missyburd! I'll check it out, still on the search for somewhere I can try one on. It's surprising how few places stock back protectors and then if they do, they're all alpinestar and dianese! I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and go online!
Cheers for all the help guys!! |

I have a Knoxx Aegis back protector, with a Knoxx chestguard to go with it.
They're a little cumbersome at first, but I don't feel comfortable if I go for a ride without them now. I've had a couple of crashes with the back protector and it faired immensely well. I've yet to test the chestguard (touch wood), however have read some good reviews. In the end of the day, any protection is better than none and some are better than others. I think the Knoxx and Forcefield are at the top of the range - I've read some bad reviews and heard some negative stuff about the Dianese etc stuff. Pity you can't find stockists locally, however if budget/credit card balance allows, go online, buy a few different types in a few different sizes and try them on in the comfort of your own home, then send back what you don't want. Good luck with it and hopefully you never get to try them out for real! |

Aye, forcefield here too - I'm pretty dinky (5'4'", 40" chest) and I got a L2K in medium:
![]() My bro, who is a similar size, got the Pro Sub 4 in medium and though it's supposed to provide better protection I find it far less comfy, though maybe it doesn't fit me as well as mine... ![]() They keep you right nice & cosy in winter too ![]() |

I feel wrong going out without it now like Nobbylad says, so I don't. That's nigh on daily use for about 4 years, velcro's just like new. Quote:
Hannah, have a read of this to clue you up a bit more. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload...tor%20test.pdf |
