Ebay are taking the money back , and i have no way to proove the postage.

Do i have a leg to stand on ?
When you send any letter or parcel (especially something like this) you can get a proof of postage receipt from the PO. It costs nothing extra, and I think you get up to £37 'insurance'

Job that has changed recently, it used to be I think £50 but now it has come right down to £20. I only know as I asked about posting a screen last week, thought that as it is worth £45 that proof of posting would cover it but not anymore. So now postage will be around £7 instead of £4 to pay for the insurance. But Parcelforce now have a minimum £11.90 or something fee so that is expensive too.

Citylink are crap too. Don't leave notes telling you where your parcel is. When they do it has the wrong house number on it. The customer service hotline is next to useless. *hittylink more like it.

eBay fees are a little steep now to I've noticed

Unfortunately Paypal will ALWAYS side with the buyer and take the money back off you.

I once got stung even when I used recorded delivery. Sold a motherboard and a while later I got a mail from Paypal saying I had a dispute against a payment. Checked the tracking code and the parcel had been delivered and signed for ok. The guy stated that may be the case but he hadn't received it and it wasn't his signature (this is via Paypal, he didn't answer anything I sent him) PayPal refunded him and then sent me nasty emails saying my account must be put in credit immediately to cover the repayment or they would do nasty things

Got the cash back from the Post Office eventually after loads of hassle and filling in the biggest form in the world.

Some right t0ssers on eBay. Would like to think this guy genuinely didn't receive it but the fact he didn't contact me once to ask where his parcel was makes me think otherwise.

I'd be tempted to take the fookers to small claims, or turn up round their house for a chat (hey mate can I look in your computer...). On balance of probabilities you'd probably win.
