I rarely drink, usually only with work which sounds bad but work is my main social contact (that DOES sound bad but it is however, true) so when I do I'm in the company of my boss (really great guy) his boss, and often A.N. Other colleague and I usually fair pretty well when drinking, I don't get hangovers and I don't seem to suffer much in the way of personality change.

I can feel myself getting "tipsy" but it doesn't seem to progress beyond that (even when drinking my way through all the cocktails of the rainbow (not NEARLY as gay as it sounds) I decided to stop ordering by arbitrary names and just use colours, I finished Blue before the taxi arrived) I also tend to think deeper somehow which always reminds me of Cheers:

"Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it's the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beersBeer"

DavePreston, you are my new favourite person, Cognac AND Kraken drinker! Have you tried the Hennessey XO? I find it smoother than Remy now, I'll always err towards the XO varieties over the VSOP though (usually as I'm not paying as per previous post) but it is like a lot of things in life, you get what you pay for.

don't suppose you have tried either the Hennessey Paradis or Remy's Louis XIII? (they were around £120/shot in the last place I found stocking them)

Yay, our first Wine drinker, wondered when one would show up Pull up a chair LPH, sobriety is no handicap here. you enjoy your recovery and a laugh at our expense

Incidentally, what wine's do you like? I've had some recommendations from my FD on starter wines as he knows my sweet tastes (merlot was one) but I like to know what others like etc.
