na, they will all run on unleaded with out problem, all the old honda's were designed to run on two star petrol, much the same as unleaded, its only the old british iron that may suffer after years running on super unleaded instead of 5 star

Sorry for this being my first post and all. Race a SV in the states.

That year CT70 needs to have the lead additive. Otherwise you will burn the valve seats, not the actual valves. I just had the seats done on my 72 CT70.

You can also get a lot of after market parts for the CTs. Lifan, a Chinese company makes a knock off engine that will bolt right into the original frame. You can even put a 110cc engine in if you like.

Here in the states they are making after market carbs, exhausts, big bore kits, and suspension for the CTs. You can get pretty crazy with the mods if you want.

You should be able to determine year from the VIN. That site should have a listing of the VIN ranges for each year.

I did valves/ springs/ seats in mine quite a while back but still runs fine with the lead additive.
Thanks for the link!
Gee, wouldn't take too much to have mine looking new again!
Maybe a winter project.

I have a 84 Z50R as well. (that runs on unleaded)
On occasion my son and I race each other.
The wife says we look like clowns, all knees sticking out riding those little bikes. LOL

well i know loads off people in the VJMC who run old z900's,cb77,cb72,c100,monkeybikes etc, most of the engines have never been stripped or rebuilt, and to my knowledge none run lead additive or different valve seats or guides, some do very high milage, and are still used as a main bike,i have seen high milage cb77 wear many things out, bearing in mind most engine parts are now not readily available, cam chain tensioner idler wheels ,little end holes in con rods etc,all had to be repaired, but with out any new honda parts to do so in many cases, and lets face it the old c100 and the 70cc and 90cc honda engines are so reliable, but at the same time so primitive, they have shell bearings, and no oil pump, relying on splash lubrication, and bearing in mind the earliest c100 was first made in 1958,and i know 3 owner running unmolested engines 50/56 years later with out any problems, apart from the dreaded rust in the pressed steel frame, which takes some repairing, although the odd nos frame turns up for the c100,also bear in mind wether its old british iron or old japanese engines, the lead that was added to the petrol has a memory efect, and will still be doing its job upto 20.000 miles after the engine is run lead free
