No news yet, he didn't call. Will have to phone and tell the police and possibly my insurers today anyway as if I'm reporting it more than about 48 hours after the event they're gonna be a bit ****ed and suspect I think......

Just need to cover myself a bit. I know I am wholey responsible for the tail light and phoned up a garrage that reconed the unit would be £40 - £50 plus fitting, so it may still not work out that dear. Just wish I knew what was going on really.

That does sound cheap, remember that anyone who owns a CLK (stereo typing here) is liking to go to a Merc dealer, and they tend to charge top price. Just a thought.

An online acquaintance of mine detailed how a friend of his who works as a taxi driver gets a shiny new motor every couple of years- he basically throws the breaks on when someone is close behind to get rear ended, then claims not only for the damage, but also back pains resulting from the crash. The money together pays for a new (second hand) motor...

Maybe a tall tale, but not too unbelievable; rear endings are one of the most clear cut sort of motoring "accidents" under UK law.

That's utterly criminal. Another candidate for chaining naked to the back of my SV and giving them a tour of the M25!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS TAXI DRIVER BECAUSE (AS YOU ALL KNOW BY NOW), I TOTALLY HATE TAILGATERS AND THIS TEACHES THEM A LESSON. IF EVERYONE DID THIS, THEN TAILGATERS WOULD BE UNABLE TO GET INSURANCE OR THEY'D HAVE TO PAY THOUSANDS. HA HA HA.

tailgaters

You're either insane or you have a poor sense of humour.

I'm neither insane nor have a poor sense of humour.

I'm just desperate for money and what beter way than to kill two birds with one stone by teaching tailgaters a lesson in the process.

Maybe this will help you understand me........ I'm studying to be a lawyer.

(cries of "oh that makes sense. Now I understand")
