Hello & Welcome - Get some Hotgrips if your riding all year. I did the past 5 years without but finally got some a coupla weeks ago just before the weather got reall cold & frosty. Well worth it. I'm intrigued by your statement about living in Essex and therefore not getting weather that is too bad... Don't you get it just as wet windy and cold as anywhere else!

I'm originally from Bradford, but moved down here after I finished Uni. I live in Westcliff.

I'll post a pic of my bike within the next week, my camera's in for repair at the mo.

the best way to keep your new suzuki clean during the winter months is to leave it in the garage and buy a honda.

just kidding dont but that ho**a crap, just make sure you wash all the salt off soon as you get home, and if possible try not to put the bike away wet.

Welcome.

About £65 for the oiler and maybe up to an hour to fit it.......

Fit it yourself - not too difficult and there's a guide on the website, I think. Either way, loads of folks on here have 'em, me included. Fine piece of kit in my view.

I agree with the others and recommend a hosepipe as an essential purchase for washing the salt off the bike. Do it daily if you can.

I've heard a few people going on about sorting out the suspension on my SV. As I am a new rider should I do this, or should I wait until I'm more experienced and know why I'm actually doing it?

You'll notice the difference immediately. Even if you're too inexperienced to make the most of the improvement like me, it's worth doing just to eliminate the front diving under braking more than it needs to.

So what do I actually have to do to stop this?
