Category B means the bike is NOT even legal to be on the road, if I got insured on that, had an accident and they find out it's not even meant to be on the road then insurance would be invalid

I wouldn't have been so bothered if it was Cat C, although wouldn't have paid £1500 for it.. but cat B is NOT legal therefore I won't touch it with a bargepole!

Dunno I might be willing to drive it at least part of the way. That would be during Easter hols though. Delivered by van usually costs about £100.

have you reported the seller to ebay? Legally he isn;t allowed to sell it unless it's only for part i think.

i had a look into it earlier on ebay and there selling policy does not cover items miss described like this as courdelion rightly says on a cat b i didnt notice the cat when i read it before " sorry " the vehicle should be sold as scrap

the insurance will have paid out on it more than once it has some serious faults with repair or somone was really hurt while using it

so they scrap them

ive seen stuff that has no real bad damage on cat b also though so dont take it as read

but in this case for it to have a cat b the insurance have

either
1 let joe bloke who crashed it keep it to scrap it as he said he would but he hasnt
2 sold it at a traders auction "where like i would do " joe bloke has bought it "possibly with the aid of someone with a scrap licience" you can get them otherwise , and then against the grain put it back on the road

oh i just sent this also lol
no offence youth but you are breaking the law by selling this vehicle if it is a cat b as i am led to believe
a cat b has to be scrapped it was sold to a svrap man you need a licience to buy them from trade auctions or somone kept it after the off and sold it on as a roader this is not ethical what you are doing people are on about reporting you for it

be careful RODNEY

Now he definitely knows it's an illegal sale, I say we give him another day to withdraw it then bombard him with E-mails.

Just all remember, when buying bikes, do a HPI!

But in his case its not really illegal i just added that bit

in the guy that sold it to him then he has done the dirty on del boy

dvlc took a strong view against this two years ago at our local crash auction and was going to revoke there selling licience if any more emerged from there holding yard as it means they are selling to non scrap dealers

tbh there is a very dim view on selling a cat b to anyone really but for a scrap man it can cause a **** load of bother for the new keeper

As somtimes they will refuse to issue a new log book or more

the last issue of a log book i heard of was last year and the trader bit like delboy if you like . honestly didnt know it was on the register and im not 100% sure what happened i`ll ring him tommorrow and find out

and as for the email i sent

hold on a second i havent done anything wrong i bought this bike in good faith and i have declared it is on hpi and i am not a trader so dont spill off to me i have checked all this out and i am doing nothing wrong as long as i declare it is a total loss and if you read up on this you will know i am correct and as i have phoned dvla after i have found out it was on hpi and i have been informed if this bike was to be scrapped only then they wouldnt issue a log book so dont tell me i am a law breaker get it right before making slanderous comments please How can i be reported for something that i have done no wrongI HAVE EXPLAINED THIS ON THE ITEM LISTING IF YOU WOULD CARE TO READ[quote]

so i sent
Quote:

Thanks for emailing him! NOT He has all my contact details and I don't want to stir up trouble, I'm ****ed that it's a cat B and it cost me £60 to find that (HPI + travelling) and I'm ****ed that I haven't got an SV hence posting here, I'm annoyed that he's not listed that it's a cat B but I don't want to cause trouble. I only posted the details here to stop anyone else buying it then finding out it's a cat B and shouldn't be on the road.

Oh and it was recorded as a cat B before the delboy bloke bought it, so I don't know if he knew or not, probably not as he says he only bought the bike off a mate for winter hack, it's just that now he DOES know and still hasn't taken out of auction or even stated that it's a cat B write off.. that's all that annoys me.

ok the legal bit here is i know this as i am a trader and here is how it stands ATM

if i am a trader and i sell a vehicle that i know is on the register i must tell you IF YOU ASK if you dont ask well you dont ....tough

if i sell a vehicle that i dont know is on the register i cant tell you as i dont know . somtimes this does happen its a fair shout

mark had this last year i`ll contact him tommorrow and see what the outcome was

if memory serves me right he ended up coughing up the money to buy it back but like i say im not sure i`ll ring him tommorrow
