For my part i'll say this much.

While TSM was givvin it some on ethe backfire front i was happily smiling at him and in some way encouraging him

Now i'm pretty new to this SV scene and the friday nights but i can only observe this.

Last week Carsik and i left Soho at about 12.30am. Just before leaving we witnessed 4 or 5 plain clothes cops put a couple of people in the back of a van taht arrived. We futher observed another2 plain clothes liten to the iir earpieces before heading off somewhere.

Ever considered that the police presence has nothing to do with us lot. That there is other actual crime goig on around us that we are totaly oblivious to?

Rideots---- are they also to be limited to 3 or 4 at a time cos the noise is gonna be too much? part of having a bike is the sound. We all enjoy that and thats why we all have a variation of end cans on our bikes. Yes they are predominantly for saftey, secondly what? HP? Noise...plain and simple.

I agree that we could be more considerate but then we could also say this abot whe 4 or 5 peeps travel home in the same direction. And that not central london that we travel thru. those people expect some peace and quite. Living or working in Soho you accept that its a 24hr city centre you are in. And live their by choice. Soho aint exactly a cheap slum part of londo is it?

i agree with the philosophy of not pooping (edited by BigApe ) on your own doorstep of course but i think we are good more than we are bad in soho....and if we maintain that ratio then everyone is happy.

Red Police cars (and there was one of them last night) are DPS (Diplomatic Protection Squad) and don't really care much about the bikes in Soho. One of the others was a Armed Response Vehicle (big yellow spot on the roof), so again, I don't think we interest them much.

They will, however get extremely pi$$ed off if we behave like that in front of them. As pointed out, there is a lot of "real" crime going on in the streets of London, but we face a "civil" issue rather than a police one. Any complaint will feed its way back to the local council and then they will put the pressure on the bikers in Soho, although this may well include support from local plod.

Woke up this morning in just the same mood that I was earlier. However having had time to reflect, I have cooled down somewhat. I STILL think that the exit last night was stupid because of the reasons already mentioned, but then this is everyones meeting place not just mine. I appreciate that leaving in a blaze of full throttle v-twins with race cans is cool, but not from there. That is our home and if we want to keep it as such then we should respect our neighbours. I agree that we create a lot of interest from the people that visit that area, but at the same we are also creating the WRONG impression to the people that matter in Frith Street, the owners of the businesses. Further to that there are plenty of people that attempt to sit outside Nero's to have their coffee and chat. They are also none to pleased when people are reving their engines right in their face. The restaurant next door to Nero's REALLY doesn't like us and didn't do before last night. We have got away for so long parking there because of the type of people that we are. QUIET un-offending and respectful. Unfortunately recently the Chelsea Bridge brigade have found there way to Frith Street and have made things considerably worse. I am not trying to chastise anyone here as I have no right to do so, I am simply trying to explain the situation and express my feelings.

Thanks for listening, here endith the sermon.

I shall now get down from my soap box and climb back under the stone that I obviously crawled out of.

No it's a silly idea. Frith St it is, unless we get moved on which I really think is doubtful.

I am just amazed at some people's paranoia.

Police from the local police stations enjoy there coffee spots as well as we do and they also have nero and bar italia loyalty cards and in warm weather plenty of good looking females or males to look at!!!. But yes one car was an armed response unit and the other DPG. They are not going to get involved with us as they could get an armed call at any time and would be frowned upon for taking time out to deal with traffic matters that is why they have a traffic unit. Most local plod would not know an exhaust from a throttle but do know traffic offences unless they own a bike themselves.

I had to leave early so do not know of the events that have started this thread but from what I have read if people are going to take the michael in front of police, whatever there unit then they will start issuing tickets and be in more of a foul mood for having to get out the car to deal with it when they were having a break and a coffee themselves.

Last night was my first SOHO meet and I met lots of great people and thouroughly enjoyed myself and stayed longer than I had intended too and ended up getting an earful from wifey. I will attend more often as I work in London and it would be a shame to see it all finish or move.
