It WOULDve worked if we kept it to weekly so the Wednesdays stayed fortnightly and the tuesdays did so too..

but even that wouldnt fit now. Perhaps the minority should post their calendars on here so we all fit round them...

or basically do what Im going to do and just not bother any more...Ill stick with the soho meet I think...

hey thats up to you, tbh I dont recall there being a discussion or agreement that we should cancel the twice a month wednesday in favour of a once a month wed and tue. I agree it doesnot please the masses nor is it a good idea. The alternating weeks ie wk1 wed, wk2 tue, wk3 wed and so on IS a good idea. why cant that just be put into practice?

I don't recall anything about wednesdays going down to once a month, but tbh I think this whole thing's become increasingly random.

The initial vote was "how about a move to tuesdays" which did not pass he board so alternating weeks was suggested which seemed to gain approval.

I'm happy to turn up as and when I'm not doing something else (like washing my hair) but I think people are making far too big a deal of this. If you want to meet up on a given day put up a poll and see who's coming with! It's not rocket science and it's certainly not the end of the world or worth totally ignoring the SELKENT meet because it's not as predictable as it could be.

This, ladies and gentlemen is the problem with trying out "democracy" sometimes the outcome is less clear than in a dictatorship

What a lot of fuss!

I queried moving the day as I (and a few others) can't make it on a Wednesday on a regular basis, then it became apparent that there are some people who have never been able to make Wednesdays.

The majority wanted to keep it on a Wednesday so a compromise was suggested where we have the meets on a weekly basis alternating between Tuesdays and Wednesdays which gives everyone the chance to appear if they so wish. Joe has put up a poll on this which should close the whole issue.

I don't see why people are causing such a fuss about all this? So you don't want to change so don't, no one is forcing you to. Just because there are a few people who are willing to change doesn't mean everyone has to.

Lynw, yes I do have a life outside bikes and I don't tend to set stuff in stone and always do the same thing. The car meets happen every month or so and I haven't been to one in about 3 months so I've decided to go to that next week. I made the meet last Wednesday instead of going skating. Big deal. If there is a meet on whatever day I will try to appear.

I honestly don't see the big deal here. Whats wrong with putting up a poll for a date and seeing who's interested? Its not hard. Not turning up because its not preditable enough or because its on a different day (shock, horror) seems daft to me. If you don't fancy going along then fair enough.

Fingers crossed that Joe's poll closes this whole issue.
