Just when you thought is was all doom and gloom! Hall matey you wouldn't swap with the little bill I am about to get hit with for putting a Termi kit on the Duke! ok so it comes with race filters,Eprom,un catted link pipe and end can with carbon cover...but it is still a wedge! By the time it has been all fitted, tweaked on the computer and a routine service done I aint getting much change out of 1500 squids! All for the sake of some bellisimo V twin sound and an extra 8bhp? :P

Ahh the days of cutting link pipes and popping an end can on the Sv........Then again once that is done the only other change that I might make is to alter the final gearing for a bit more instant acceleration out of bends when chain and sprocket time comes around!

That looks great! Can't wait to get mine. Goes nice with a black bike.

I think the problem occurs when you buy a cheap carbon can. Whereas you can get away with a cheap stainless can, If a cheapy Carbon one is bought the quality of the carbon, and also the construction of the can in general is poor, so they tend to deteriorate more quickly.

Can't comment on SV's as i've got a stainless one, but I have seen cheaper carbon cans blow on big twins. I know someone with a TL1000 who even managed to destroy a pair of Stainless Scorpions. One had a few rivets fall out, and the other can had quite a few rivets fall out, so many in fact that the end cap, the packing and the perforated tube fell out on the A47........

Think the cans were about 6000 miles old

Think he may have given it a hard time mind........

Dan.

Isn't just limited to carbon cans and doesn't seem to have much to do with the cost. In my first year racing SVs I had to have my Titanium Akrapovic resleeved a couple of times because it blew the packing out and started to cause damage the titanium.
