I bought my curvy SV from Fowlers for 4300 over 4 years ago. They were fine.
But I think you can do better for servicing in Bristol. Nothing wrong with Fowlers services, I just find the service impersonal from a big dealer when you are having work done. i like to be able to talk to the mechanic and get a bit of feedback. Personally I used Central Motorcycle Repairs and was very happy (now live in Brighton) |

Just placed my order! Went with the place in Chippenham. They matched Fowlers £4200 and agreed to do free delivery and a free collect and return on the 600 mile service. Gone for blue.

Yes thats the place. I don't honestly know much about them, have got bits of kit from them before and they seemed ok but all I want them to do is deliver a new bike and just stamp the book at 600 miles. I am sure even the most shoddy dealer couldn't mess that up...well ok maybe but unlikely! After that the bike probably won't see them again unless I am really impressed with their service. Apparently someone that works there lives about a mile from me so the sales guy said he could pick my bike up in the van on the way to work and drop it off on the way home. Sounds good to me. Collect and return should definitely be possible with bikes because one man can come and pick it up in a van. My car dealers sends two blokes out to pick up and return my car as one has to drive their company car and the other drives mine. If you don't ask you don't get though.... |

How long did it take for you to get the bike after placing the order?
They told me they didn't think they could get it for this weekend ![]() I reckon anyone buying a new one should definitely be looking at £4100 or even £4000. Both dealers offered me £4200 far too easily and didn't really moan too much when I started talking about a free collect and return. Me thinks they still have a pretty large margin there. The dealer also said he couldn't get a black one, make of that what you like - perhaps that colour is in short supply? |

Yup the black ones arent in stock, pending delivery at present.
£4k wouldnt be really possible..considering it is nice to make a little more than £40 on selling a bike ![]() Most bike shops dont do a collect and return service as they dont have enough time or staff to do it!. Car dealers make more on the cars than we do on the bikes and hence can afford to give that sort of service. What want everything for nothing then wonder why they cant give you the earth!. It costs us £30 on average everytime we send a man with a van out and thats for local work.. |

With bikes being sold out of season for £3700 I wouldn't be surprised if the dealers get the S model for £3500 at most. Could be wrong but I bet it would be hard to find the honest truth!
Then they give you £2000 px for a bike which is on their forecourt for £2800 a few days later! ![]() I consider the out of season value to be nearer the true value and if they were flogging off K4's for £3900 a few weeks ago then I don't expect the different colour wheels and frame on a K5 to add a few hundred quid to the price! The shocking thing is I bet the majority of customers pay £4600. I can understand why the small local shop type dealers can't provide services like free delivery and stuff but it is usually just that type of small one or two man outfit that will go that extra mile etc whilst the big boys like Fowlers say they can't. Guess they have to pay for those big glossy showrooms somehow! Out of curiousity, does anyone know what people pay in Euro's for one of these bikes in places like Spain, Portugal or Greece? |

add about 350 to that figure and your nearly there
![]() Deals on the older ones are often done on a reg bonus through suzuki, IE when the bike is registered suzuki give the dealer some money back enabling them to sell it less than cost and clear some old stock from suzuki's warehouse. Some are also reg on a demo allowance but not ridden..strictly not always allowed. There you go a little insight!!! ![]() |
