Moose/elk are a big problem for cars in Scandinavia too. Just tall enough so the bonnet (hood) hits the legs and the rather large animal they support slides up and joins you in what remains of the passenger compartment.

Mitch; I'm glad your chum's OK. I had a deer wander across the road in front of me yesterday evening before dark. It's the ones that leap out suddenly that don't bear thinking about...

That post certainly brings it home to you, I was dreading reading the bottom bit Thankfully it seems as though luck was on your side that night.

A mate of mine hit a deer in Sweden with his truck, it wrote the cab off

I hate to see any accidents involving bikes and it calms us all down for a time.

I was out for a ride with Matts dad a few weeks ago, we saw a bike that looked like it had sideswiped a car and it didnt look too good, I counted 3 bikes and 3 people but if there was a pillion, someone had ended up in hospital.

On the way back I had a scare myself as I made a mistake, and Keith posted that he had done the same earlier.

Anyway, alls well that ends well :P

That's scary in so many ways.

Hitting something big, not having the the proper kit, the ambulance taking so long.

Seems that the dear took most of the impact force, sort of furry airbag. Glad he's okay.
