Glad you got yourself sorted mate, the Daytona is a very nice looking machine. We'll have to start getting some "4 Pot Massive" merchandise organised

<drool>, gorgeous that is!!

defo thinking about that as my next bike, along with an A1 zx6-r! £3,700 seems like a great deal, I guess they will be cheaper cause of the 650.

what's it like compared to the SV comfort wise? I'd like the 650 but could only probably afford the 600 (in Silver of course!!) so what's the power like? does it have a decent midrange for about town? is the handling a massive leap up? I've heard Northwind say it feels a bit flimsy? What do you think next to the SV (not exactly the most well built bike is it? Also, what year is it? Has the finish survied well (I'm thinking forks, bolts, brakes etc). sorry for all the questions, looks absolutly crackin'!

you've not been riding very long am I right? is it not a bit scary?? take care on it by the way.

definately name it after your fav porn star as was suggested earlier - I'd call her Jenna!

It does come in black BTW - looks very sinister!

lol, ill wait before i say what the bikes like comfort wise as ive only done about 20 miles on it! needs a new front tyre. Btw, tyres are alot more expensive than the sv!

i dont even wanna judge the handling etc yet for the same reason, but here r my first impressions ont he differences.

1, i nearly dropped it when pulling away as i lifted my foot up when i thought the bike was gonna move. i didnt realise i hadnt given it nearly enough revs, the bike didnt move forward at all! i quickly put my foot back down.

2, its smooth but not as smooth as i thought it would be coming from what people say about IL4's. i have read that the jap bikes r smoother though, the daytona sounding a bit more meaty and vibey than the japs.

3, the bike feels like its ready to turn at the slightest movement, indeed when i move my body at all it has a far bigger efect on the bike than the SV. this will take some time to get used to.

4, the power is delivered in a very different way. I dont believe it has much less power mid range than the Sv, and the top end is just insane! infact i didnt even come close to opening it up, which i did reguarly on the SV. i dont think i got above 4th on the motorway, and in 3rd i was doing 70 at around 5k revs i think. i went over the ton at one point and my hand was less than half way round the throttle!

5, i started to get a small amount of wrist ache whenon the m25, but no more than i got on the faired SV. longer distances required to judge the comforat level.

Overall i think the biggest difference is the handling. thats what im gonna try and get used to first. i dont wanna be pushing it at all until i feel comfotable on it.

ill post a proper update on the bike when ive had more time to ride it. so far so good though, i just love the sensation of the engine.
