Well a big thanks to everyone that turned up and a welldone to everyone for keeping their bike the right way up.

The ride went to plan with 11 bikes in total. The roads were mostly ice and snow free with the exeption of a few slippy bits here and there.

We went to look at the Dalby Forest Drive but it was compacted ice and snow and was not a good idea so we headed to Scarbourgh on the A170 instead.

We had sun and snow showers a long the way but it was a good ride if a little slow.

It was good to see so many new faces and a good variety of bikes.

The turnout included:
Me: 1200GS
Dad: 1150GS
Daz: 1100GS
Richie: SV650s
Lee: 650GS
Chris: 650GS DAkar
Richard: Fazer 600
Richard: Africa Twin
Bob: K1200RS
Jon: 1150 ADV
Shotrock: Funduro.

Enjoy the pics - more action ones to follow:

Carchers Dakar

Dazco's 1100GS

The first group just about to leave Harewood Gates

Carcher manages a smile after the four hour ride up from Oxford via Shrewsbury!

The Dalby Forest didn't look a good idea...

So we all turned around and headed for Scarborough by the main road.

Stoping for an afternoon tea at Fridaythorpe - check out that very slipy snow.

Someone with the right tyres on.

Jon from Wensleydale

My Dad's 1150GS.

Cheers Stoney for a nice and safe ride out.
All the stops were spaced out so I had time to Thaw out again before getting Frozen again.
Glad I took two pair of gloves as they both came in handy on the way home.

Got home to Black ice, and a dead car battery.
So had to take that out and it's charging in the warm....

Warming myself up with a very Large Wiskey and Threat...

once again thank you Stoney, from Lee, and Myself.

We'll do it again sometime but in warmer climbs next time...

Thrisk, notice SV on far right..

Slip sliding away, STONEY...

Line of BMW's ( prepare to Retreat...)

The Bike in Front is an SV...

Oh I do like to be FROZEN by the seaside..

A Nice Warm up Brew stop. Cheers Stoney.

Guys glad you had a good day...you know I wanted to be there badly.

But then again looking at the under tyre conditions....maybe not!

No way! Just a hose down with cold water and it looks just fine. the warm water would just make the effect of the salt worse - or is that what you're getting at...it's been a long day so excuse me if I'm being thick.

A nice orange bike past us in Fridaythorpe - 950 Adventure - I'll be giving one a shot next year but you're after-sales service woes are putting me off a bit. Maybe I should stick with my GS which has been great for 9000 miles of everything from snowy trails to the Nurburgring.
