I get around 175 miles out of a tank full, bike is on its side stand when I fill it up.

Got an SV650S, W reg.

Don't suppose the different models have different size tanks?

On my K5, just out and about (not really town riding it's never busy where i live) i uaually get 130 till the light starts flashing and then about 25-30 miles till the light goes solid then i usually fill up straight away.

Have been known to get less than 100 to the light if i have been having fun.

K5s
I think my best ever was about 130ish miles before the light started flashing... that was going down the motorway, nicely.

Most of the time it was between 95 and 115miles...

How can someone manage 150+miles...? tow it??!

i push mine most of the time i go out and ive got to say that im looking at 150 before i need to fill up. The light usually comes on a little before it. Ive never ran it out totally to find what my reserve was giving me

i always hold it upright when filling up so it completley full

best before the light is 145 which was achived by not riding in town and sticking to the speed limits worst is under 100 and was on a private test track of course!

out of interets has anyone worked out what they got on a trackday, i think mine was about 85 with a bit left - didnt want to go out with the light on

Gearing down will make it worse as you have made the bike have to rev higher for any given speed. On my standard geared K3 I consistently get 55mpg-60mpg. Given a good thrash it drops to 50mpg. 60 mpg gives a range of about 165 miles on my bike, 140 for 50mpg.

Paul.
That doesn't make sense. 60 mpg is 13 miles per Imperial litre multipled by a 17 litre tank = 221 miles theoretical tank range.

From your figures, assuming you're using the full tank - it works out at 42.8mpg to 1 decimal place.

Just curious whether you guys have ethanol in your petrol over their? The average economy seems pretty poor compared to here.
I commute 190 miles every week on about 14.5 litres and I don't tootle

I'm on a restricted k4 naked and I only get about 105 before the light comes on , and i fill it to the brim with the bike straight up. I'm not sure if the restricted ECU lowers fuel economy. Oh, and that's all town driving
