I quite like the half faired one from the pics I've seen so far. I'd be tempted if it's priced right and delivers well in terms of handling/braking performance

Hmm, having thought about that a bit more, I'm not sure I'm ready for a BMW in my life yet - I'm not even 30!!

We saw it often enough on 'The Long Way Round' too - Mind you, they were carrying a lot of weight

Yep, Charley Boorman is a bit of a porker, isn't he...

I tried the F800S in Bristol today. What an excellent little bike. I can't really compare it well as its ages since I rode a 'normal' bike (by which I mean 'not strange' . But it seemed to handle superbly, excellent brakes, nice noise, seemed plenty quick to me. Had braided lines and a steering damper It just felt sorted to me and I reckon I could ride it quick. Be interested to know what some of you SV riding guys thought of it. Personally if I was a DAS newbie now I'd buy it. Downside is I reckon its pug ugly, especially from the riders view. The naked should be a good prospect tho.

One point tho, its not exactly low so may not suit the short of leg. The clutch was heavy (maybe cos new) and the clocks seemed hard to read, especially speedo.

Most BMW dealers have come and ride things tomorrow as well as today I think. I'd recommend trying one, mind you if youve already got an SV you probably wouldnt want one.

I tried somehting else as well. My wrists are now 1" longer

Seen one today in the flesh and have to agree with Dr Rich it's one ugly looking bike in my opinion, but the 1200GS now thats another thing, sex on two wheels but hey yet again that's only my opinion.

IIRC it was the Touratech frames that broke- and mostly due to repeated crash damage too.
