Sloth, its learning of things like this that make you realise just how foolish you've been. And how stupid, to take things for granted which some people don't have the luxury of from the start. (i believe that to a large degree we are all guilty of this)

The trouble is alot of people are of the mind set of "it won't happen to me..." or "i'll deal with it when it happens". The majority of people will listen to good advise from others, and this in-turn will help them long term. Others could'nt give a crap, and quite frankly imo are down right selfish in there outlook.

All i can say is good luck to those who learn from others,

and to those who don't,
don't moan when it all goes tits up for you.

One other thing to consider, is that with recent talk of "negligence" in direct relation to a chronic condition or illness that could mean it goes untreated on the NHS, hearing problems due to riding a bike without earplugs just might be in the same boat...

All valid points which I've taken on board, but I'd prefer not to ride with ear plugs it's just my choice.

I also find that my ears ring when I go out to clubs where the music is blasting out, but they don't ring when I ride my bike. I do ride with a Buff though, which is pulled up and goes over my ears so I suppose it provides some protection from noise.

You may well brand me stupid, but I've tried riding with ear plugs and just don't like it. [/i]

Well to be fair it is their lookout and doesn't really affect anyone else if they decude to ride without earplugs.
