Not sure I'd want to be a passenger in a car where the driver couldn't see a hazard approaching. I think the DVLA have a lot to answer for by letting us on the road.

As a friend of mine puzzled the other week - "You're a safe driver, why stop?" But he agreed that having good road sense is useless without being able to see properly.

The specialist I go to see talks alot about macular degeneration in my right eye. Its caused by the blood vessels in my retina bleeding into my eye and then the blood clots and leaves ripples across the retina which then distorts the vision.

Sounds like you have 'wet' MD, which is fixable. I have 'dry' MD, which isn't. How old are you?

Have a look at the RNIB and Moorfields websites, they have some really good specialist info on the conditions on there.

Yep the specialist said it was fixable but as my eye is stable he recommended to leave it be as he was worried about causing a catarrach ( sp ) on my right eye.

I have "Coates Disease" normally it effects children but I have it to, The specialist thinks I might have always had it and only noticed it as I've got older
