The one about women being able to multitask is priceless, how they can say women are more careful drivers is byond me on that evidence.

Well your girl managed to make national T.V. news over here in Spain yesterday! Even they took exception to her antics, which is saying something when at times the level of driving here is frankly abysmal. With road death rates continuing to be ridiculously high.

if only means tested fines did work...the rich snobs say im on £50k a year, (not that everyone earning that is a rich snob) but i have a £600k house with a massive mortagage and a £30k car im still paying off and the insurance on that, then the heating etc for the house is loads, so in reality i only have £300 spare a month...and the court says ok heres a £300 fine then...

really is no real justice anymore, its a myth

Jane Shilling (in her Friday column in the Times) makes a very good point:

Just search for Andrew Wilkinson (or scroll down near the bottom of the page) and tell me she's not right. Why does the press always seem to ignore most of the more important stories?

Jonboy...If the blonde bimbo's antics beggared belief, how can anyone accept anything less than a life time ban for Wilkinson?

Probably because normal "important stories" aren't that sensational. Remember the majority (not all) of british media relies on sensationalism to shift papers from the shelf.

I agree though, the papers always pick up on the small issues, spin them and then report it as gospel truth.

In a similar vein the bloke i sit next too at work rang his wife this morning somthing like "Hello Darling you driving? I've told you not to use the phone in the car" He then proceded to have a 10 minute conversation with her. The look on his face when i called him a pratt was priceless, he really couldn't see what he'd done wrong.

Its probably not safe or polite and definately not legal but I bought a cell phone jammer and have loads of fun with the little thing. Today a woman putting eyeliner on whilee trying to talk on the phone and oh yes driving,I gave her a wave made a hand gesture like hanging the phone up hit the jam button and lights out!
When people hear I have one they either love it or hate it,well to each their own.
Thanks to the good ol Uk for having such a thing available to me. You cant buy one in the land of the free.

My twin brother (and a biker, so should know better) has been done twice for using his mobile whilst driving. He now pulls over to make/take calls. So I know that the law must be enforced.

So why is it that I forever see people using their phones whilst driving. Having a shave etc.

I must admit my guilt to using the PDA sat nav whilst driving. my phone is proper hands free and I avoid using it. Yet I see people texting.

However the law and its enforcement is a complete ass when it comes to being in control. People being done for having a swig out of a bottle, or eating an apple. yet they don't seem to do anyone for lighting up a cig or eating a sweet.

I have realised in the past that there have been times I have concentrated on tuning my radio and not looking at the road. are you technically out of control when you let go of the wheel with one hand to change gear.

But the worst crime I often see. is the lady driver. I am sorry but I only ever see ladies do this.

When they have a passenger, they turn their heads to look at the passenger as they are talking to them. therefore looking at their passenger and not the road. I have followed women for miles up the motorways in disbelief at thier antics.

Just seen this in the Times:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...117283,00.html

Makes interesting reading, particularly the information that next year the fine for using a mobile whilst driving will go up from £30 to £60 plus three points on your licence - which might make a big difference once the general public become fully aware of it.
