Why not park up in Soho Square if you're getting there early and then bring the bikes back down a little later when plod has gone off the boil? If they can see there are no bikes there and they think they've won a little victory, then maybe they can report back to HQ that the job's done, and they won't be there in official-mode next week - just a thought.
