Quick example.. I had a 2.0 Honda Accord petrol, cost £38 to fill the tank and I got 280-300 miles per tank..

My sister had a 2.0 Ford Mondeo. Similar sized tank got 550 miles per tank.. And that is me driving both cars in the same way..

Hope that helps..

Even better if you get a smaller car with a smaller engine

65mpg out of a diesel car is briliant. There's not many cars out there, especially diesels... that can manage that sort of mpg. The wee A-class merc is good to drive, quiet, and comfy as hell.. My mate had one, and got over 500 miles to a tank of diesel

Mercs are bullet proof, they go forever with an oil change every 6K miles and regular servicing. They're also rather good at holding their value A Corsa 1.2 is greedy on petrol, and it's residual value after 3 years is crap. Hold onto it any longer, and you'll be shocked at the trade it price

Just make sure you service the merc regularly, it'll do you proud service over many years..

My Merc lorry that I drive has now covered 485,600 km in just over 3 years. That's a lot of diesel burnt at 7.6mpg

say 250 miles would cost you how much in quids??

just lazy - I could do the math I suppose .......

suppose its roughly half of petrol costs...??
Most cars are doing well if they get to 45mpg on unleaded.

I've had 44mpg on a long run being reasonably conservative on the accelerator pedal. Usually get around 30mpg on average. 2 litre Golf GTI.

the milage aint that bad check who owned it last whether it was a fleet car or not, came belt should be ok for about 120k, but you need to find out if the rear wishbones have been replaced this was a big issue with the a class, when i woked in the motor trade we wouldnt touch em if they hadnt been done

my insurance on the fiesta was £550 comp for me and the wife, the focus is £300 comp me and wifey! seems like alot more car and performance for less cash.

My (slow as hell) VW Polo 1.9SDi gets 60mpg EVERYTIME!

0-60 is well in excess of 10secs but who gives a sh*t.

Cheap to run & cheap to insure as it's group 2. Currently £185 fully comp.

At first it was a snobbery thing with the Polo, but after 1yrs faultless ownership I love it.

Bulletproof engineering from VW.

1yr old, 5800miles!!!!
