+1 on the Motosliders. http://www.motosliders.com
Received them today but i have still to fit them. They look like they are well upto the job and will stick out far enough to help protect the radiator. There was a slight delay as they had run out of stock (let me know by email), but still arrived in just over a week. Oh and didnt have to pay any import charges.

I've never like R&G's, they always bend the bolt as there's not enough support from the slider itself, but this seems to be a design feature as even in their catalogue every picture of a bike thats been down has the slider bent at 45 degrees.

I've never removed a crashed Moko that has damaged its mounting hole or even bent by any serious amount, they just wear away
Out of curiousity, how common is it for a bung to damage the hole? I've never come across one myself, but then you've probably seen a hundred times more crashed bikes than me

The R&Gs are designed to bend, the weakness is designed in in case they hit a hard edge- pothole, kerb etc. They're supposed to bend first, tear off second. But I don't think they've ever got the balance right myself, that's my beef with the new ones- the bung bent flat without hitting a solid object (other than the ground)- the force of the slide was enough to bend it.

Ive removed quite a few sets from various bikes and it does happen.

Ons side of the SV is generally ok due to the steel pga drive nut, its the alloy side that gets damaged, leaving the hole oval and the new R&G design doesn't suffer from this (but I haven't seen any damaged ones either)

The worst bike i've seen is a RSV mille where it had damaged the engine and the frame, all because the spacers were badly made/the wrong size.

I have also changed a few sets that are designed so you dont have to cut the fairing, these were replaced because the stainless bracket that held the bungs had broken due to vibration

The length of the bung and its diameter effects how much damage it does/stops and also how well it fits where its mounted

Over the last 6 years racing I have tested the Moko's (not intentionally ) and cannot fault them and have also replaced them on customers track and road bikes and 99% of the time the bung will survive another crash, with only the puck worn down.

This was the first meeting last year, round clearways at brands and they survived two other crashes and are still fitted to the bike, with its new owner

R and G wouldnt let me buy just a lug at the bike show, they wanted me to fork out 90 quid for another kit.

the CBR kit - and it didnt do a great job of protecting the bike, still got a scraped fairing and snapped off lug where it was mounted,
the bung had loads of meat left on it, but the friggin mount bent into my fairing panel, and crossed the thread.

I've never had any problems just phoning them... Apart from the exorbitant prices, and slow delivery that is I doubt they'd have spares inventory at a show, could it have just been that?
