Looks like they're moving production to Russia and leaving the desihn team here in the UK.

Do we make anything in the UK anymore???

some things about how TVR were run in the past were a bit nuts. Mate of mine used to work for them on PR. He ran the Tuscan Challange and the like.

He told me that they own a couple of registration numers that they moved between cars. Apperently TVR1 had a problem filling up at a local petrol station as TVR1 was also at an adjacent pump.

He came home in one car that he was delivering for a photo shoot the following day, ****head in an old maxi ran into the rear 1/4 and took off. Bryan managed to turn round. overtake it and force him to a stop with 1/2 a mile. I bet he would have had the coppers laughing at his excuse for 130mph with the "I was trying to stop a hit & run driver".

He got a bollocking back in Blackpool next day as they had to quickly get a different car ready for the photo shoot and fix the damaged one.

Not lots, but it makes great business sense to shift production over to places where labour is cheaper.

You cant fault them. Due to our own economic success, we are now paying the price, in that many companies are relocating to where staff and running costs are substantially cheaper.

Actually according to the my mate that works there its got nothing to do with our economics but more to do with some russion git who has no passion in the company and making bad executive decisions...

A number of years back I owned a TVR3000M (a 3 ltr Capri in drag), whilst doing some work on the drive train, I had to replace the prop shaft. Contacted TVR who put me in contact with a supplier who supplied the part, when it arrived it didn't fit nor the next one either! Went back to TVR who investigated and came back with the reply................

"Your car was made in 1977 just after the fire and whilst we had plenty of engines, gearboxes were in short supply. So we pinched one from a delivery van and fitted it to your car, unfortunately we never got round to fitting the correct one. As a gesture we will supply a bespoke propshaft. Sorry!"

TVR's absolutely love 'em, just for being so British and proud of it!
