I can't back it in, I can do really bad down changes on track that moves the back round and scares people behind me though

Have to say the least impressive thing is getting your knee down on a roundabout. I do think it is really quite stupid and unimpressive - the number of idiots who do think it is impressive amazes me.

Having said that, getting it down on the road is acceptable, so long as the bike isn't vertical and you're hanging off like a monkey.

Can stoppie, wheelie, 'spin it up', wouldn't even attempt to back it in even if I wanted to do it. Always do it when I'm away from other trafic though.

We all do the roundabout thing to learn how to kneedown … it is the logical choice. So I have no problem with someone learning the art by themselves at a roundabout, but your right a pack of weekend ‘roundabout surfers’ who go out with the sole aim to try and destroy their right sparking kneeslider are not really impressive and perhaps need a bit of slapping about!?!?!

Noone else want to be able to smoke the rear coming out of a fast turn WSBK/MotoGP stylie?!?!?! I think that is the most impressive and ballsey thing a rider can do!!!

Tricks?

You want a nice big ol' centrestand to kick down for a bit of grinding. Sparky.

The footpeg "chaff". Respect is due.

Supermoto leg-out.....on yer sports bike. Cos your saving for that flat-bar conversion/£300 A/stars Tech boots.

Killswitch backfires. Keep your distance I am astride an explosive device (smug curvy carbed bar stewards only,..... until you lose a valve.HA!)

Reverse pillion. No one can hear you scream.

The Hand-bag snatch.................only joking

I swear , a Fireblade riding mates "p*ssed resistance" is the pushbike classic, the no-handy. Tragic. (years before Rossi started picking his **** too)

Nah, I'll pass. The thing with smoking the tyre under power is it's on the extreme edge of adhesion, there's a lot of momentum in a bike cartwheeling out of control which is exactly what happens. The risk of doing serious damage to yourself, your bike, other people and property is inevitable if it goes t*ts-up.

Unless you were meaning in a disused carpark (then yes, go ahead and impress me! ) as per that stunt video posted at the weekend, but I suspect you meant on the open road.

I love getting my knee down and anyone who 'doesn't approve' probably can't do it. I do agree however that there is a time and a place and roundabouts in busy traffic are not the most sensible choice.

That is why it is so impressive … you need massive skill and massive ‘sacks’ to be able to do it … unfortunately when it comes to that sort of trick I fall well short on both counts!!

As for where - I was meaning on track. It would be impressive to see someone exiting tescos carpark at a ton-plus with the rear hanging out and smoking mind!!

Do you just head for roundabouts and do it or try and do it on real bends??

I’m a Hampshire boy too … I know a few sections that are kneedown conducive

Buy the very nature of driving/riding in the UK on the LHS of roads, it is hard to find a suitable LH bend.

Can't remember the last time I tried to get me kneedown on the road?!?!

Pesonally I've never felt great doing the right knee. I must be left brained or something. I only really do it on roads I know and know well a all it will take is a drain cover or dodgy surface and you're off. There are some great roundabouts to have a go on but they are always pretty busy so I'm very wary. There are some simply stunning bends/roundabouts near me, my avatar is the best place to do it. A nice little left hand bend in Bracknell. It's a single lane one way road so no chance of trouble unless you mess it up yourself. It's also on an industrial area so nice and quiet. Let me know if you want to check it out. Just make sure you have plenty of slider left as it' a lovely long bend and really grinds them down!
