When I had my RS125 someone actually drove into me on a roundabout, causing me to bounce off his car twice and wobble off in the wrong direction. He gave me the finger and indicated it was my fault and drove off, with me in pursuit. Managed to get alongside him, tried to get his wing mirror with my foot but instead found his window and paintwork, felt quite satisfying until he started chasing me... Recently I've only had a couple of people pull out or move over to stop me, and I've found a flick of the middle finger tends to work well. Can't be doing with the fuss if they take my plate and report me for criminal damage... |

Whatever works for you man! That pressure valve has to pop sometimes.
I'd try to keep calm and say they're stupid and curse them through my helmit. I say to myself that I wouldn't sink to their level. This may or may not work for me all the time. If I'm in a good mood it may, but if I'm already bad... well, and they did it to you twice... I try to live by the words of Jesus and like the way of the Budists but it ain't easy. |

Of course if you're somewhat devious, and you can remember the car's registration, then you could easily create a most gratifying scenario:
Hello police? Yes I'd like to report that I've been knocked off my motorcycle by a blue Vauxhall Nova and I have the registation number, no there were no witnesses, what's that there's nothing much you can do? Well okay but I also wanted to let you know that the occupants of the car who shouted "God is great" appeared to have a gun. Oh you'll pass this on to your Armed Response Unit will you? Excellent, and just so as I know what the outcome is I'd like a crime number please. Later that day you can imagine the car being surrounded, the chavs unceremoniously dragged out with a gun barrel up their nose (possibly shot a couple of times too, as the police seem to like that) and then thrown into the back of a police van. Twenty four hours later, after serious questioning and sleep deprivation, they stagger out of the police station wondering what the hell happened to their world ![]() . |

![]() ![]() I've done it... Not often, because I'm deeply cowardly... But I pretty much regret it. The reason is, if someone fails to see you and changes lane on you, it might seem to you that you're justified- but what he thinks is "Bloody bikers, come out of nowhere and knock off my mirror". If he never saw you, he doesn't know what you're reacting to. And as's been said, if someone's nuts enough to put a deliberate move on you, then knocking off their mirror is fuel for their ire, next time they'll probably try a little harder to take some bike down. It won't be you, and it won't be your fault, but maybe it wouldn't have happened...

A couple of months ago me and a couple of mates were out on our bikes on our usual Sunday route down the coast road. My mate Turu was leading on his Honda Magna when all of a sudden the Kia Avella he was passing veered to the right onto him. He was lucky nothing was coming opposite. He braked and panicked then got a hold of himself and tried nocking her mirror off. His first attemp failed. In the meantime I managed to pull alongside him and asked him what's going on. He replied that the driver was a tourist with a video camera in her hand filming the sea to her right whilst driving! Of course she couldn't see him coming! We decided to ride in front of her and slow her down. It worked and ****ed her off no end

Yes but it's not really the way to behave is it? As riders we should know two things: one, car drivers don't look where they're going so it's pointless getting too angry about it, it's something we should expect on a daily basis, and two, we're not the police and don't have any right to be judge and executioner.
Plus I'm quite sure that most of these drivers haven't a clue what they've done wrong and therefore it's quite wrong to harass and intimidate them just because they're ignorant. As people who ride bikes I think we have a duty to try (as far as possible) to promote a positive image where required. If it's deliberate, however, then that's an entirely different story, but great care should be taken to ensure our own personal safety at all costs. . |
