The last three cars that beat me on a 60+ run were an m3, diesel 5 series that had been tuned by alpina and my neighbours scooby.

I reckon the sv is still good upto about 120, which is quick enough for me TBH. I too have though the sv is getting a little slow but if I get a quicker bike i'm just going to end up going faster and faster and eventually land in court or a hedge.

Hmm it would be tempting to get a stupidly fast bike for my next one, but I have to say I have only really missed grunt at high speed on very rare occasions, usually I love just whipping other cars around brum centre and on twisty roads in the country. I will be commuting 30 miles on the M40 soon, so I might need some fairings and a larger engine soon. But I can't see me ever straying from twins, because of the noise and the low down torque!

If we cut the BS and all put our wieners back in our pants, then the facts are pretty basic …

The SV has more than enough poke to have fun on the road within the legal limits, its only if one wants to go outside this that the SV is not enough.

That said, if you are getting the aching in your pants, then you need to go the big IL4 route, else you will only end up resenting the SV. I say do it!!

Sorry to disagree but personally i reckon the sv has got enough poke to have fun way beyond the legal speed limits. I can apreciate why people buy the big il4's but I question how many riders actually can use that much power on the road.

I wouldn't use all the power, but I would want the NOISE!!!! *droool*
Following a guzzi 1100 through small welsh towns even at slow speeds made me green with envy over the throbbing roar!

I can see a potential customer! Ride an Aprilia big twin, you'll not regret it! The performance handling and noise is awesome! When you're satisfied it's right for you, come and buy my Falco!

Hmm I had a look at the Falso, it does indeed look nice and would be the kind of thing I would get next! I am not looking to upgrade yet at all, but out of interest, why would you sell it?
