No other sod is awake to register my bike starting in the morning (4am). The old boy to my left is a lovely old guy, lives alone, loves bikes and always says hello and keeps an eye on the bike when I don't use it.
When he had surgry on his eyes, me and wife always popped over to make sure he was ok and did not need anything. The single guy on my right is a good sort and does odder hours than me. As I start the bike up he comes home from work and lets me know what the roads are like and if there has been an accident or that the old bill are about. Can't complain, but sorry about your troubles. Watch out mind, that lass knew enough about the baffles or just got lucky. Be mind full. Cheers Rich |

I once had a teenaged neighbour complain I woke him up running my nitro RC car down the road at 4pm. What reply did he get? "You the lad racing that hairdryer up and down the street at 1 o'clock this morning? F*ck off. It's bloody 4pm."
I waited for some sort of retort, and was going to offer a race. (With the RC car I mean - would have to give him a chance!) |

I wouldnt have minded if she lived next door but she lives halfway down the road and the people that live next door havent given us an ounce of trouble about it.
To be honest it doesnt sound much quieter with the baffles in anyway so once they go back in theres nothing she can do about it ![]() Martyn's old man is a copper anyway so we'll get all our advice off him, but there naff all she can do about it, we're not exactly coming home at 3 in the morning revving the tits off it, we'll get our own back soon enough ![]() |

i used to have a loud can on my bike, then i realised what an effin din it makes, even at idle, so much so that my house was vibrating when i drove into the garage. i then thought about how:
a) it was illegal so i shouldn't have one anyway b) how everyone else must have appreciated it at 8am, 12 midnight, whatever then i got rid of it and put the standard one back, lot better! there's an idiot down the road who's constantly out on his TL1000 / KTM / Suzuki Bandit up and down the street, with open cans on. let me tell you, when you work nights, like my other half does, it becomes less agreeable by the second. instead of the "f**k it" attitude, how about you give some consideration to others. |

When i lived in Wallington, the tossers next door started working on cars accross about 10 of the residents parking spaces (flats), making a general noise and revving engines all bloody day. When asked to be a bit quieter as I was working nights i was told where to go in no uncertain terms.
Had a long weekend, got 5 mates down - 2 V-max, and a further 3 CBX1000's, took the endcans off and revved the bollox off the bikes at 2am. Told the tosser next door this would continue as long as he kept me awake during the day. Peer pressure (and termination of lease) from the landlord and other tennants worked fine ![]() |

I took my baffle out once - put it back in the next day so it was a little more respectable. Still feel guilty getting in at 1am now (with standard cans) so I give it a rev at the start of the street and switch it off with 50 metres to go. Usually enough to coast me back in. But then I have nice neighbours and from time to time need their help to keep an eye on the place when I am away - or the odd favour to get something done.

I drive off pretty much straight away, try not to rev it, and have a standard can. I really hate to be woken up when asleep, as things sound louder and worse than they actually are when you are trying to sleep. Do as you would be done by in my opinion.

I wouldn't expect my neighbour might need some building work etc done at 9am in the morning to post-pone because I work at night but that's just me ![]() ![]() Cheers Ben |
