Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).

Wow! What a warm welcome! You are a friendly bunch. Much nicer than those learner-hating bullies over at bikechatforums...

Thanks for the good luck wishes everyone. It's three weeks and counting 'till I get on my SV now. Boy, time is going slow. Almost as slow as my trusty VanVan... I'm getting right into test mode. Always checking the indies, my neck is sore from all the lifesavers, hendon shuffles at every stop!

Has anyone got any suggestions for making the next three weeks pass either more quickly, or without me thinking about my new bike?!

If you're buying from a stealership, ask them to deliver it to your house. They'll appreciate the free space. Then you can take it for a spin.

Wait, no, honestly, don't. Seriously, put the phone down!

See if you can sleep the time away. It'll be just like the longest Christmas Eve ever!

So, here I go then. As I type I'm just about to get donned up for the first of three days Direct Access. All being well I'll be on my new (..used..) SV650S by Thursday afternoon.

Direct Access. The final frontier. As I boldly go where loads of you have no doubt been before, think of me pottering around Exeter atop an ER5, draped in high-viz, shuffling and lifesaving my way to my first SV! These three days'll be loads of fun I'm sure.

I'm off, best foot forward! (But left foot down, back brake on! )

P.
