Nearly every journalist who has ridden the new Sprint ST recons its on a par if not better than the VFR,partially due to the V tec,but also for the power delivery and brakes on the ST I think you are probably Honda bias as you seem to have forgotten all the other manufacturers. Like Peter H says the SP4 is a cracking bit of kit and the Aprilla range excellent machines also As for wanting a machine that does everything, the day it is produced all the rest will be out the window. I'm afraid old son it is horses for courses and at the end of the day only you know what
horse is for you,be it touring, scratching or commuting------------BEST OF LUCK

the trouble with the ST is, being only a short ass, i cant actually get on one, there far to tall for me. and having such a wide body, means that i cant lower it by taking some padding out of the seat like i usually do.

Step one buy a grow bag Step two check the seat heights,Firestorm810mm,Sprint800mm I admit the 675 is high,as is the 955i but if you want a lot of bike for little money the 955i is the kiddie at the moment

Very seriously thinking about one for myself if I can get it for the right price, not the 6k they are asking but more like 5.2k nearer the end of the year

I like Falcos myself... Funny looking, but it's the right funny looking. Just a wee bit more practical than the Mille, which is also a contender I think. But you do hear about electrical problems still.

Or, last pre-VTEC VFR. Look like crap, sadly, but you can't have everything.

cbr 6
Seat Height 805mm

the seat height doesnt make a tiny bit of difference, if there is bodywork where your legs are.

my other halfs SV has aseat height of 800 mm

only half a centremeter difference, but i can get both feet on the ground flat,
where as on my CBR, even with a lowered seat, i can only get tip toes on the ground at the same time.

with most of the triumphs (i can get on a bonny no problems) i would have to make sure there is a kerb where ever i mount, or dismount (traffic lights could be quite an embarrasment)

they do make stunning bikes though.

mabe i should consider a royal enfield or something ?
hopefully someone will be along to slap some sense into me before i sign on the dotted line.

You see the problem? You've got your leg bent. They're longer when fully straightened.

If I was in the market for a 1000cc v-twin sportsbike and had plenty of cash, I'd certainly be looking at one of these:

With less cash, I'd seriously consider the Falco. In fact, the only thing that stopped me buying one was the Speed Triple 1050.

Got to agree with you there Northy a couple of the Huntingdon lads we were out with up in Scotland on the Sunday had them and I was impressed. Two different models? but one with a slightly softer engine tune making it more useable, very nice
