Why do you have to have the dealers remove the restrictors? Once you're legal to drive at full power, who cares what's in the database, as long as you're doing the right thing? Seems like you could save a few quid, even if you have them installed by the shop, by pulling them out on your own when your restriction lapses.
If you get the dealer to install the restrictor, ask them as part of the deal to tell you if there's anything you need do at removal time other than pull 'em out.
