I can go with that - tht's what caused my issues a couple of weeks ago. Rode 10km's on just the rear cyl, one squirt of WD40 and hey presto working bike. Poke the hole with the straw (misquote at will ) and all of a sudden the side of the engine was awash with Wd and water...

Went home and ordered at fenda extenda - fitted it last week, but not ridden trhough rain again yet so I can't comment on how effective it is... (Also the problem above was the first in over two years and I've ridden in much worse weather than when it stopped )
