Also take a though towards a 2nd Hand ST1100 Pan Euro, the last forever and eat miles for lunch. The ST1300 newer model costs more but not heard anything bad about them yet

You could do a lot worse than another SV.Cheap insurance and good fuel consumption out of town, and a fun bike at the weekend.I call that an all rounder.

I havnt driven a VFR800. So, I cant say anything really... but, (and I am talking about the 1150GS adventure) hmm, I mean, I am suprised to hear about the vibes being an issue.

The indo's are odd, but you get them after a while.

Too tall... yeah, its high, I am six foot, and just able to touch down. Once you are driving it feels great to be up there.

He didnt like the Riding position though... I really dont understand that. I found it very comfortable, and very sheltered. And, you can lean it into bends, you just have to sort of trust it.

Granted... the engine is odd, you have to work the gear box to move it quickly. And, the gearbox is clunky, but very positive feeling.
But, I dont think that these things that are odd are necessary bad, just different. You get used to them. I still think it is an excellent distance machine.

'Twas me that wrote that review, and I although the basic riding position is OK, I prefer the "head forward" style of a sportsbike. The instrumentation is clear and well laid out, and the seat is very supple, but those indicators are an awful set up.....
