Hi.
Polarizing sunglasses are great for driving, especially when wet but sunny with low sun. They cut down most of the glare other sunglasses do not. Tim. |

I got flamed on here a while back for recommending sunglasses. Somebody who will remain unnamed said that they were dangerous cos if you have an off the glass can break and broken glass could cause severe eye and facial damage.

I assume that the plasic lenses are safer than glass. No doubt someone can correct if that's wrong... Stu |

Depends on the material... If they're standard glass or old-school plastic, aye, they might break. Glass can be pretty dangerous. Polycarbonate ones, though, are much less likely to break, and when they do they're still fairly safe.

Well I have some oakleys and they are always wittering on about how good they are for impact protection so I should be alright.

Incidentally it wasn't Northy who was responsible... Funny really, here we are, a bunch (or whatever) of bikers debating the safety of spectacles - ironic or what ![]() |

I don't know how real the risks really are tbh... I got mine because they're more fog-resistant more than anything else, but knowing they'll not chop my eyeballs in half is also nice
