Well although we dont see much rain here, as we climb up along our fave biking routes it can get pretty cold. Summer as you can imagine is very hard work when wearing all of the kit also.

I have today invested in one of them there lycra type jobbies which are meant to keep you cool in summer but nice and cosey in colder temps. You can either buy from names like Alpine Stars or mine is by Pukka or even try similar tops that windsurfers or surf boarders use. All apparently do a similar job.

Mine is long sleeved and cost €53 euros which is about 42 0f your squids. Will let you know how it performs in coller conditions asap.

p.s.This of course does potentially offer a far more fashionable option as one understands fibre type kit is not to be worn on red Italian machinery.

Not a great fan of the dark either but that's partly cos lights not good enough and haven't located suitable bulb that the electrics will handle and will last longrer than 10 minutes.

My preferences in order are:

1 Cold, dry and bright

2 Warm, dry and bright

3 Cold, dry and grey

4 Warm, dry and cold

5 Dark and dry

6 Warm, wet and bright

7 Cold, wet and bright

8 Dark and wet

9 Snowy

10 Icy

11 Foggy

12 Icy and dark

12 Icy and foggy

14 Icy, dark and foggy

Im gonna buy some Pathans this week - they even make the 5 fingered Pathans now but i doubt that will be enough to keep my hands warm in the cold. Heated grips seem to be the way forward.

What are the hot hands like? Do they slide around much on the grip?

i tried some heated glove liners today, being convinced that these were the answer. But they only heated the back of the hand. Its my finger tips that freeze! Has anyone tried the chilli heated glove liners?
-on the pathans front i was going to buy some today, but they didn't bother stocking them at the nec...odd
