Well, since i dont drink I have a hell of a lot of whisky.

I currently have:
Some japanese 12year old malt
Laphorig Quater Cask, double cask matured. Not sure how old it is.
Couple of other single malts, somewhere...

Lagavullin. It's all salt and seaweed - instant memories of the Islay beach where it's matured.

Once had some 80 year old Highland Park, at £12 a nip, which made the perfectly good malt we'd been drinking taste like what **** would probably taste like if I'd ever tasted any.

I used to arrange some tastings and was sponsored a bottle of Blue Label. Just for laughs we put it up against against Oddbin's own Speyside malt (which we were un-offically told was Cragganmore - tasting confirmed this) in a blind tasting for over 20 folk. So was a £220 bottle against a £16 bottle!

The Oddbins came out top by a long way. If you like Johnny Walker Red Label, you will like the Black and Blue, as they are basically the same only more so.

My mate is a big whisky drinker and he can never remember the name of LAGAVULIN,so he calls it Duck Glands and when you go to his local nobody calls it by its real name, but I must admit to being a Duck Glands fan

Has anyone else tried the Jamesons 18 year old? I tried it once years ago, horrible it was. So I tried it again a while back. Still horrible. All very strange...

Funnily enough, I didnt like it either. Although I am a Muppet on the whiskey front I think.

I ended up serving it at some party over the summer to others, who seemed to be quite happy with it, and even complimented my taste in Whiskey weeks later.
Meaning I get given more Whiskey... meaning I give more away, meaning I get more...
