Hard and safe.

My yardstick is that I've done 30k miles, mostly in London traffic and not had a single accident.

I have no stick for the Hard part, so I could be totally wrong about that!

when I land on the road, or on a car... that is when my yardstick says I went too far!

I do my best not to judge myself against other riders as in teh past I have tried too hard and made some silly mistakes. Experience has taught me what I and the bike can and can't do and I like to stay within that bracket (sometimes only just - granted). I just like to ride my own ride and enjoy it. As for what you can use as a yardstick, I guess only a bikesafe (or similar) course for safety and a trackday for hard riding should teach you what you need to know?

I am not sure really.
I definitely used to be a nutter. and, I used to have a fair number of offs. I am now a very habitual rider, old habits die hard. But, I mean, I havnt dropped my yoke in about 4 months now. So I am fairly pleased. Although I nearly had a nasty one a little while back.

I really try to be safe on the bike, and I am very calm, but I sort of have a suspicion that I am calmly doing fairly suspect things sometimes.

I dont like being unsafe though. I give myself stern talkings to when I sit on the bike. But, very often just slip into auto pilot.

Hi all after reading bits on here i feel alot better about my riding as i would like to ride hard and fast but cant really do either, my top speed up to yet has been 90 mph and then i get scared lol although i have only owned my bike since June and had big confidence problems due to an accident i had years ago, so after reading everyone Else's bit on here i feel ok about only doing up too 90 and its more important to ride safely and within your limits.

I am going to do a track day at Rockingham next year to boost my confidence and improve on my cornering so if anyones interested in joining me then that would be good, Rich.

If you ride within yourself and don't feel you have to be faster than the next bloke, then you stand more chance of not coming a cropper!!

If you put a post on here when you intend to book the tackday I am sure a few people would be game!
