I like a drink. A beer or a double vodka after a particularly hard day's work is a nice treat. A few (IE about 3) pints with some friends whilst having a natter down the pub is a pleasurable way to spend a saturday night.

As to getting drunk? Hardly do it anymore. NYE, or a boys weekend away are the only time I'll drink heavily. I used to cane it when I was 16-18. I did become borderline dependent on it for a while (I would 'find' myself down the pub on my own, without any intention of going there), but didn't like that, so went cold turkey for 3 months. Since then, I've never "needed" a drink.

Goes to show, like most problems, catching it early stops it developing farther and becoming something nasty. Mind you, most people cant recognise it when they become dependant on stuff..

Er I am in the highest category. Cos I am siting at work with a stinking hangover! I used to get drunk very often at uni, now with a job its just at weekends and the odd weekday event, but the hangovers are getting unbearable, so I am cutting down more and more. I think thats what naturally happens as you grow older, have more responsibilities and discover more fun things than hangovers in life. So no need for Mr High and Mighty going in telling the poor lad off, we've all done drunken posts!

I remember once i sent a drunken text to a mate, asking where he was. It was just letters and numbers, making no sense...

...beer and Aftershock dont do well for linguistic abilities

Matt

[EDIT] i only know because he saved it and showed me when we returned to school the next day (i think i must have been 15 or 16!)

That sounds harsh, where do you work?
A bit harsh perhaps but then again understandable. You wouldn't want me drunk or hungover if you were on a train doing 125mph.

(ps I am not a train driver)

Been drunk (not paralytic) twice in 2 years , not on my birthdays either.

Had enough really of alcohol after the drinking games, use of funnels, boat races, etc I had to do after matches at uni.

there is nothing wrong with doing what you enjoy, i really enjoy a drink, i have been drinking from a very young age, been far far far far far far to drunk in the past, and now i will have "drink(s)" on Friday and sat night, and sometimes we will go out during the week as well, there is nothing wrong with it IMO, as long as you are sensible,

know your limits!!!!!!!
