I used to spray it after every ride and then put it in the garage, this did work very well but its not very practical if you ride to work, which I now do. Going to try ACF50 I think, also my bike is begining to look a little tatty now so I'm not so worried about the finish anymore.

Also watch out with the cover, if its not breathable it can make things alot worse, all the mostiure stays in and it becomes a haven for rust, make sure the bike is completely dry before putting it under.

yeah the covers abit on the cheap side, so dont know whether it'll be the best

Cardiff seems to have a lot of wet days aswell which could become a pain

when you wash the acf off though, does the bike return to normal condition? all this talk of it looking manky, doesnt stay that way does it?

all these questions of mine, i do apologise, wanna keep her as good as i can though

Sounds like you're in the same position as me mate so I'll be interested to see the responses to your questions.

I'm getting ready for my first winter of biking. Will be commuting every day and unfortunately the bike will live outside with a cover on it. From the posts on here so far it seems like the coat it and let it get grimey for the winter might be the best bet in these circumstances as otherwise everytime you wash it you're just exposing stuff to the elements, even when it's not in use.

My ACF50 experience from last winter is here.

Summary: Worked well, but maybe should have reapplied halfway through winter.
