I used to work supporting large logistical operations (including a completely autonomous warehouse - ie, no people there), entire shipping operations, GPS tracking etc etc, but now, I actually write the software that does all that. So when before, it wasn't MY computer doing it all, now it is

My computer also deals with all telecommunications to my office, and the usual like emails/browsing/videos/gaming (yes, in the office ), instant messangers, bluetooth bridging to my phone and a whole load of other useful (at least for me) things that other folks have already mentionned.

I have a thing, kinda related to what i said previously....



The US are looking to introduce computer flown planes in the future... So what happens if someone does hack in and takes over?

What happens if PC's become self aware and we see Terminator style hard ass robots being built?

We use great big magnets to polarise all their microcircitry materials and screw it all up!

The result would be pretty obvious I would think. The attacker/hacker would gain control over the plane, and all functions of it. If they knew how to send commands to it in the first place, and could get over the encryption used. Obviously.

As Matt said, or just detonate a bomb large enough to give off a sufficient EMP, and oops, everything computerised goes off, permanently.

Jax's PC does lots of stuff now that I fixed it by replacing the main-board CPU and memory... USB works for a start.

I use mine mainly for 3d artwork and animation. Also use Photoshop quite a bit to create digital paintings. It's also great for pics of naked ladies.....so I hear.
