Dude, you for real???

IMO, he's one of the best fly halfs we've had for a long time. Better than Rob Andrews was.

His all roudn game is superb. He's an extremly hard tackler (esp for his size), his positioning is very good, he can pass the ball perfectly, has a brilliant "game" mind, and he can kick as well.

Excluding his kicking, he'd still make an excellent player. England frequently use there backs when he's playing, its the other fly halfs we've had recently that don't seem to like passing the ball.

He takes the points when they are needed as well. IMO, (even before the WC in 03) I considered him to be one of the best players in the northen hemisphere total!!

I've heard him speak highly of you, too

I wouldn't mind him playing at all - he's in great form - but he's going to find it tough to get picked ahead of James Hook, who will be the star of this year's competition. A genuine talent - the best since Jonathan Davies IMHO.

Remember where you read it first

Rant over...carry on you very very nice people
I think the reason he is not playing is he spends to much time on his off field activities and not enough on the field. He has a high opinion of himself, granted, but has talent nontheless. He needs to concentrate on his game and we might all like him a bit more, as well as admire his talent.
As a Welshman, I find him incredibly frustrating.

Thats my only concerns about JW, his lack of matches since all his injuries.

But looking at him, he's kept on top of things, he's stronger, a little older, a little wiser.

The only thing i've actually see him do wrong is try to do toooo much, tackle absolutly everyone. If some teams spot this and he's caught by a dummy (i.e blindside dummy run) then he drops slightly out of position, puts him behined 2-3 meters, and in international level, that can be a try allowing gap.

CH was awful, Andy Goode played better, but he is like a light switch. Either switched right on, or right off. JW is consistantly good.

I have to say that I'm glad JW is in the team - my original point was that I can't believe that the bookies have made him favourite to be MotM against the Jocks.

As for his abilities, well I'd put him up against any fly-half in the world (fitness permitting of course).

Because his kicking is just so awesome - & that's something that he works tirelessly to achieve don't forget - it blinds people to the other aspects of his game.

Bottom line, having a JW in your side might not make for 'pretty' rugby - but if you need a kicker in the dying minutes be it a penalty, conversion or drop-goal for a tie or a win - name me someone better !!
