How about putting tax on petrol?

Oh, wait...
Which would be fine if we did not already pay Road Tax and the revenue raised was spent on transport (not Tony's latest crackpot sceme to be immortalised). If we saw a benefit to the all the tax we pay on travel, then perhaps we wouldn't be so pee'd off with it.

I'd like to add I find it extremely anoying when the government speaks of motorists as evil polluters who won't get out of their cars out of sheer bloody mindedness.

Especially given the milage most MP's do (well clain for anyway), they ought to be shot for such hypocracy. And no doubt if road pricing comes in they wont pay that either, they'll claim for it too. So not only will we have to pay any road pricing charge once, we'll have to pay it twice to cover the money grabbing gits in government.

Rip up all the tracks used for the Rail network - which is a load of overpriced crap, tarmac the lot, and make it bike lanes

Fantastic Idea! High Speed Express Bike Lanes, 125mph minimum.
