Home stretch of the ride, ready to leave the B.P. station on the A82 at Dumbarton. First observer rides off on to a clear road. I'm next, I could see the road was clear when the first guy went, but I take another look. Because this is more a slip road than a junction, and i'm crouched over on my bike I don't get my head round far enough to see what, if anything, is coming. I decide to bimble up to the white line, put my foot down and take a proper look. The second observer, who's alot further back sitting upright on his Honda, (no more details than that since he's done everything right since the incedent!), can see that there is nothing coming and drives in to the back of little old stationary me, just as I put my foot down to take a proper look!

This bike is officially cursed! Had nothing but hassle from the day I put my deposit down. Wrong insurance details, delays fitting alarms, my work sending me to Ireland when I want to pick my bike up. Having to come early from Ireland to drop off my trade in before the tax expires. Still don't have my new bike because of delays with the alarm...again. When I do get the bike the alarm goes off ALL the time, two recalls, etc, etc, fell off in December, did I mention the alarm which has seen more of the dealer than me? Now this! It's only 9 months old FFS!

I want my SV back!

well to steal philbo's thunder,i was out with glasgow north last week and my observer(a t a guess about 22st)dropped his bike (with him still on /under it)at queens view car park we stopped for a debrief about what i was doing ,and ended up rolling about on the grass with a big bmw boxer ,,i was ****ing myself ,not only did he drop it in a comedy fashion ,he couldnt get back up (webbles woblle but this one did fall down) quality ,,picture it ,a qualified iam observer whos bike control /general riding ability is btr than most people ,stops, side stand down(obviously not right down) leans bike over towards stand and doesnt stop till its touching the grass verge im not doubting the guys riding ability ,but his gen mobility leaves a lot to b desired , and being an easter egg with legs doesnt help ,,watched him getting ready to go again and he was struggling to get his leg up high enough put it this way ,,i wouldnt like to bet on him in the gymnastics

Likewise Phil. Hope you appreciated the advice despite the incident. I had quite a good night and managed a constant run (no stops) from start to finish.

Don't tempt either of us mate, especially Q - her bike count is already at three for the moment AND I pointed out to her that the Sprint has upright bars! She'll be offering you a part swap on a silver curvy if you don't watch out.
