Hey, I think it's a great system, clearly designed to weed out the f*ckwits!

Yup, that's what I reckon too. If you can't follow the very simple instructions then you probably shouldn't be voting. Obviously dosen't apply to people with reading difficulties, dyslexia etc, which is why there's loads of people around to help out. If you ignore all that and still get it wrong, well done, you just voted for the eejit party.

Obviously working on the assumption here that I got it right, but you never know Mcletchie got in by about 4000 votes so it doesn't matter all that much.

Someone was on the TV last night maintain that first past the post's better than STV because it's simpler. Yes it is, but it's also ludicrously unfair and, tbh, undemocratic.

Right, well that's me told!!!!

I will admit, I am one of the poeple who most probably accidently spoiled one of my papers. I did this because there was a big notice that was on the wall of the booth explaining the procedure for the scottish parliment one. So I put my crosses in place, then, I admit probably stupidly, put a cross in the local councilor one as well. Then read it, and realised that I had messed it up! So, put a 1 next to my cross, and then a 2 in place.

I think the confusion was cos there were 2 diff types. If they had both been numbers, I don't think there would have been a problem.

I admit, I wasn't concentrating. I had been working all day trying to finish this masters dissertation (don't ask) and was feeling a bit frazzled by the time I got there. How many other folk have been a bit frazzled and maybe made a similar mistake.

Well, i was one of the buggers responsible for overloading you all with the dirge that is election material in the last three weeks.

One day i put out 9 different leaflets to every house. Next day i got a load of abuse about 'more of that bl***y s***e' etc. from my punters.

By yesterday i was so hacked off with it, i didn't bother going to the polls.

Still, there is a bright side. I've worked out the payment system, kerchinggggg! £273.45 for the leaflets and my O/T=£402.75 in all.
